Hantering av din urostomi

Så här tar du hand om din urostomi

Vid en urostomi är utflödet ett kontinuerligt urinflöde och du behöver använda en urostomipåse. Din vårdgivare visar dig i detalj hur du tar hand om din urostomi och hjälper dig att välja och använda de urostomiprodukter som bäst passar dina individuella behov.

Med tiden kommer du förmodligen att lära dig att hantera din urostomi på egen hand så att du kan bli mer självständig. Du bör veta att en urostomi inte ska hindra dig från att ha en aktiv livsstil. Om du blir inbjuden till ett möte, en fest eller en middag ... med rätt utrustning kommer du att kunna njuta fullt ut av evenemanget.

Du kanske undrar hur ofta du ska tömma påsen. Detta varierar från person till person, precis som hos personer som kissar normalt. Det kan också spela roll hur mycket vätska du dricker. I genomsnitt kan du behöva tömma urostomipåsen varannan till var fjärde timme. Att tömma påsen regelbundet är ett måste. På så sätt förblir den diskret under kläderna och du minskar risken för läckage.

Du kanske även är intresserad av: Om din urostomi är en ilealkanal kan urinen innehålla slem. Detta slem utsöndras från det tarmsegment som användes för att skapa urostomin. Slemmet kan minska och ibland försvinna under några månader, men det kan också finnas kvar, oavsett om det är synligt för det blotta ögat eller inte.

Utformad för din urostomi

En person med en urostomi som behöver en urostomipåse har valet. Speciellt utformade stomipåsar har ett specifikt uro-utlopp som gör att påsen kan tömmas. Urostomipåsen kan anslutas till en urinuppsamlingspåse, särskilt på natten, för ökad komfort och bättre återhämtning när du sover.
