Statement on the situation in Ukraine
B. Braun is shocked that Russia has started a war in Europe and observes the development with great concern. The thoughts of the company management, works council, and employees are with the people in Ukraine. The logistics and supply chains to customers in Ukraine are currently interrupted. Apart from the safety of our employees, our most important goal remains to ensure the supply of the healthcare market.
B. Braun is present in Ukraine with its own sales company in Kiev. Currently, B. Braun employs 65 people in Ukraine. B. Braun does not operate a production facility in Ukraine.
B. Braun employs around 3,400 people in Russia. In Tver, 200 kilometers northwest of Moscow, B. Braun produces infusion solutions and accessories as well as stoma products to supply the local market. B. Braun also operates dialysis centers, which treat around 8,000 dialysis patients.
B. Braun does not export finished goods from Ukraine or Russia to other markets. The B. Braun Group also does not purchase any raw materials or components from either country. Therefore, according to current knowledge, no bottlenecks in market supply should be expected outside of Russia and Ukraine.
